From the Founder’s Desk
I'm Tanay Roy, a founding member of Trading Scripts and Strategies. My journey into active trading began in 2020, following a successful career in data analytics and leadership roles at two startups. The pandemic dealt a heavy blow to my consulting business, forcing me to pivot—toward a lifelong passion: financial markets.
While I had theoretical knowledge as a CFA(ICFAI) charterholder and exposure to technical analysis, I quickly discovered that real-world trading demands more than textbook expertise. I began exploring trading strategies from books, websites, and YouTube channels, but my analytical instincts pushed me to go beyond the claims. Armed with Python and a background in data analysis, I started coding every strategy I encountered, validating performance and exposing exaggerated promises.
Reading Market Wizards was a turning point. It helped me realize that trading is fundamentally a game of probabilities. No outcome guarantees profit; rather, consistency across a large sample size is what matters. That insight led me to define four pillars for long-term trading success:
- Relentless consistency in strategy application
- Homogeneous trade data for meaningful comparison
- Disciplined risk and trade management
- Emotional control to enforce all of the above
For me, coding is more than convenience—it's clarity. If a strategy can't be coded, it's too vague to execute. I build scripts to eliminate emotion from trading decisions, allowing me to operate with logic and consistency. My workflow is simple: build the strategy → code it → trade it → analyze outcomes → iterate.
Since embracing this data-driven and disciplined approach, I've achieved both profitability and peace of mind. I shared my philosophy with peers, and it resonated. That shared vision gave birth to Trading Scripts and Strategies—our collective platform to empower others with the same tools and mindset.
